Frequently Asked Questions
In both Java and Bedrock editions of Minecraft, you can add up to 6 pattern layers to a single banner. This limitation is reflected in our Banner Generator tool.
Yes, but only in Java Edition. You can apply a banner design to a shield by combining them in a crafting table. In Bedrock Edition, banners cannot be applied to shields.
Our Banner Generator provides a unique code for each design. You can copy this code using the button next to the code display and paste it back later to recreate your design. You can also download an image of your banner for reference.
Yes! Our generator includes letter patterns for all 26 letters of the alphabet. You can find these in the "Letters" tab. While the space on a banner is limited, you can typically fit only one letter per banner, but they work great for initial markers or when placed side by side to spell words.
In Java Edition, you can place a banner in the world and then right-click it with a map in hand. This will mark the banner's location on the map with a small icon using the banner's design. This feature is extremely useful for navigation and marking important locations.
Our generator includes an image-to-banner converter that attempts to translate simple images into banner designs. However, due to the limited number of layers (6) and pattern options in Minecraft, complex images cannot be perfectly converted. The tool works best with simple logos, shapes, and high-contrast images.
